Wild is the Wind
Anthropologist, cirque enthusiast, trapeze artist & contortionist in training, long-distance runner, health & fitness freak, vegetarian, wannabe-photographer/artist, book connoisseur & animal lover.

I post a lot of circus photos, things I find beautiful & inspiring & places I want to go.

More about me

  • Twenty-something.
  • I have a degree in Anthropology but have yet to really figure out what I want to pursue as a “career”.
  • In the meantime, I am working as an animal technician at the SPCA. I love animals more than I love most people.
  • I absolutely love all aspects of contemporary circus/circus arts/Cirque du Soleil. They inspire me to no end and involve my dual love for art & athleticism. It would be the biggest dream come true if some day I could work within the circus community in any capacity.
  • I’m currently enrolled in trapeze school. I love it so much and it has become quite essential to my life. I am looking forward to branching out, though, and trying new circus arts. I recently started silks classes as well and I have been teaching myself contortion at home.
  • Besides trapeze, I am a long-distance runner and run competitively in races whenever I can. I love being physically active in any way, challenging myself and trying new things.
  • I also love being creative in any way possible. Expressing myself through art is essential to my well-being. My forte seems to be drawing but I do dabble in painting and photography for fun.
  • I love, love, love to read. Books are some of my best friends. I tend to lean towards fantasy/epic novels and series but I will read anything. It goes without saying that I am a huge Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fan.
  • I want to travel the world and I don’t think I will ever be truly content in one place. I have trouble living in the moment and am always looking towards the next thing.
  • I am a perfectionist. Oftentimes to my own detriment.
  • I can be a rather solitary person but I wouldn’t call myself shy. Rather, I am just very comfortable being alone, I enjoy my own company and I don’t enjoy small talk. I don’t have many true friends and I am completely fine with that.
  • I consider myself an old soul. Growing up, I often had, and still have, trouble relating to people my own age. I was never interested in many of the things that, socially, it seems I was supposed to be.
  • I don’t adhere to any religion. I do consider myself spiritual, though.
  • I have also struggled with severe depression and eating disorders in the past. I still have my down days and I think that my struggles with food will always be at the back of my mind, but today I am much more confident with myself and have gained the inner strength to keep that negativity and self-loathing away for the most part.
